What to expect

The healing journey

Semi-permanent makeup takes around 4 weeks to fully heal. Here's what to expect at each stage so there are no surprises.

Day 1–2

Colour appears darker and more intense. This is completely normal. Some swelling or tenderness may be present.

Days 3–5

The treated area begins to peel or flake. Do not pick, let it shed naturally. The colour will lighten significantly.

Days 7–10

The area may appear very light or patchy as the skin heals. This is the "ghosting phase". The pigment is still settling beneath the surface.

Weeks 2–4

Colour gradually resurfaces and deepens to its true healed shade. The final result begins to emerge.

Week 6–8

Your top-up appointment. Any areas that need more pigment are addressed and the final result is perfected.

Powder brows typically last 1–3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Oilier skin types may notice fading sooner. Avoiding sun exposure and using SPF helps prolong results. An annual colour refresh top-up is recommended to keep them looking their best.
Powder brows (also called ombre brows) use a stippling technique to create a soft, powdery makeup finish across the brow. Microblading uses fine strokes to mimic individual hairs. Powder brows are generally better suited to all skin types including oily skin, tend to heal more evenly, and typically last longer. We offer powder brows as our preferred technique for most clients.
It depends on the existing work. We assess every client individually at consultation. Previous semi-permanent makeup that has faded significantly can usually be worked over. Please mention any existing brow tattoos when booking so we can advise you correctly before your appointment.

Most adults are suitable. However, semi-permanent makeup is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for those on blood thinners, or for clients with certain skin conditions. A full consultation is conducted before treatment to confirm suitability. Please contact us if you have any medical concerns before booking.

In many cases, yes. If your existing microblading has faded significantly and the remaining pigment is neutral in tone, powder brows can often be applied over or alongside the existing work. Every case is assessed individually at consultation. If the existing pigment is still saturated or has faded to a cool, grey or ashy tone, removal may be needed first. Please mention any previous brow work when booking so we can assess suitability before your appointment.
Yes. Powder brows create a soft, powdery finish that mimics professionally applied brow makeup, not drawn-on strokes. The stippling technique diffuses pigment gradually across the brow for a gentle gradient effect. The result is polished and defined but never heavy, sharp or tattooed-looking.
