A bit of local character
Palmers Green earned its nickname the Jewel of the North during its Edwardian boom, when the area went from sleepy hamlet to bustling shopping hub in barely twenty years. The Triangle, where Green Lanes meets Aldermans Hill, is still the social heart of N13 today, and a fair share of our regulars walk in from a single stop on the Great Northern line.
Historic landmarks
Broomfield House and Park. A 16th-century hunting lodge said to have been used by King James I himself, surrounded by baroque water gardens that still surprise first-time visitors. The house was sadly gutted by fires in the late 20th century, but the park remains where N13 spends its summer Sundays.
The Fox Pub. There has been an inn on this corner for over three hundred years. The grand 1904 Edwardian rebuild became a key local landmark and an important terminus for travellers heading north out of the city.
Getting to us from Palmers Green
Palmers Green Station on the Great Northern line is one stop from Winchmore Hill and ten minutes from Moorgate. The Triangle was once where trams from the city met trolleybuses heading north, and even today most of the area's bus routes converge there. From Palmers Green, we are roughly seven minutes by car or the 329 bus down to Enfield Town.

In 1611, Lady Arabella Stuart, a claimant to the English throne imprisoned in the Tower of London, escaped disguised as a man. Local legend says she stopped at the ancient Cock Inn on Green Lanes during her flight north, before being recaptured at sea.
