Beauty salon
near Southgate
Southgate has no shortage of places to get your nails done. What N14 lacks is a specialist in the treatments that last: powder brows, lip blush, Russian volume lashes and laser hair removal. That's us, twelve minutes away on the 121, and it's why Southgate clients have stayed with us for over 10 years.
Semi-permanent makeup is a two-to-three-year commitment, so it pays to have it done by someone PhiAcademy-certified. Ayse has shaped brows and lips for clients across Southgate, Oakwood and Palmers Green, and every treatment here is by her or Deniz personally.

Get in touchYour local beauty specialists
Southgate clients could stay local. The ones who come to us decided the twelve-minute trip up the A111 was worth it for brows and lashes they never have to think about.
A bit of local character
Southgate takes its name from a literal one. It was originally the south gate into Enfield Chase, the royal hunting grounds. The neighbourhood the Piccadilly line built around the station in the 1930s now sits across the road from one of the most striking pieces of tube architecture anywhere in London.
Historic landmarks
The Hermitage. Tucked away on Cannon Hill, this late 18th-century cottage orné is genuinely unique. It is the only thatched house in London still used as a private residence, and it sits there as a quiet reminder of what Southgate looked like before the Piccadilly line arrived.
Southgate Underground Station. A Grade II* listed Charles Holden design from 1933, with its circular UFO shape, an Art Deco spire on top, and the original bronze-framed passimeters still inside. It is hard to overstate how futuristic this building must have looked when it opened.
Getting to us from Southgate
Southgate sits on the Piccadilly line, two stops short of the Cockfosters terminus. Unusually for a deep-level tube station, it is perched on a hill, so passengers can actually see daylight at the tunnel portals just to the north of the platform. From Southgate, we are around fifteen minutes by car down the A111 to Enfield Town, or twelve minutes on the 121 bus.
Did you know?
When Frank Pick and Charles Holden designed the new tube extensions for London Transport in the 1930s, they toured Scandinavia for inspiration. What they brought back gave Southgate Circus its sci-fi look, complete with the circular mushroom-roofed bus shelters that orbit the station like little moons.
Why our regulars make the trip
Worth the drive
Powder brows and lip blush last one to three years, so it's worth getting them from someone properly trained rather than whoever's nearest. Ayse is PhiAcademy-certified and does every SPMU treatment herself, which is exactly why N14 clients come to Baker Street rather than settle locally.
Travelling on the Piccadilly Line before your appointment? The air conditioning on those trains is notoriously drying. A hydrating lash serum on the way home helps a fresh lift or set of extensions hold its shape for longer.
Your appointment day
- Leave Southgate around 12 minutes before your slot on the 121, or 15 by car.
- Park up nearby or step off the bus a short walk from Baker Street.
- Arrive a few minutes early. There's always time for a cup of tea first.
- Your treatment begins, unhurried, with the same specialist from start to finish.
