Lip Blush in Enfield
by PhiAcademy specialist Ayse

Imagine your lips. naturally defined, softly flushed with colour, and always looking polished. No liner, no lipstick, no reapplying between coffee and the end of the day. Lip blush semi-permanent makeup adds a beautiful, customisable tint and clean definition to your lips that stays through meals, workouts and everything in between, for up to two years.

This isn't the bold, tattooed look of a decade ago. Modern lip blush is soft, skin-toned and completely natural-looking. Think your lips, just more refined. Colour is chosen together at consultation, applied gradually, and heals to something that looks like you on your best lip day. Ayse has been performing semi-permanent makeup at our Baker Street salon in Enfield EN1 for over 10 years. She takes her time, and the results show it. Clients visit from Winchmore Hill, Palmers Green, Southgate and across North London to see her.

What lip blush can do for you

Lip blush suits a wide range of clients, from those who simply want to save time on their daily routine to those wanting to restore definition that changes with age. Here are the women who get the most from it.

Your lips have lost definition over time. The border has softened, the colour has faded or the shape feels less distinct. Lip blush restores that crispness without surgery or filler.
You apply lip liner every single day. You find yourself retouching it throughout the day. Lip blush makes that whole routine unnecessary.
You want a fuller-looking lip without filler. Precise definition at the border creates the optical illusion of more volume. Clients genuinely tell us their lips look bigger.
Your lip colour is uneven or very pale. A lip blush evens out the tone and adds a consistent, flattering flush that looks natural in or out of full makeup.
You want beauty that truly stays put. Through meals, swimming, exercise and sleep. Your lip colour will be there every morning without any effort.
You have thin or slightly asymmetrical lips. Strategic colour placement and careful mapping at the border can subtly reshape the lip for a more balanced, symmetrical look.
The process

How lip blush works

The initial session takes 2–3 hours. It's unhurried. Ayse takes her time with the consultation and colour design before any pigment is introduced, so you feel completely certain about the result before it starts.

1

Colour consultation

We look at your natural lip tone, skin undertone and the finish you're after, and choose a pigment shade together. Nothing happens until you're fully happy with the colour choice.

2

Numbing

A topical numbing cream is applied and left for 20–30 minutes to take full effect. This makes the treatment comfortable for most clients. They describe it as mild sensation rather than pain.

3

Lip mapping & design

The lip border is precisely mapped to your natural lip shape. or refined slightly if you'd like. You see the outline before any pigment is applied and can adjust anything before we begin.

4

Colour application

Pigment is worked into the lips using a fine needle technique, building colour gradually for a soft, diffused finish. We tint shades slightly from the centre outward for a natural, dimensional effect.

5

Aftercare & healing

Written aftercare is provided and we'll walk you through every stage of the healing process in detail, so nothing that happens over the next four to six weeks takes you by surprise. You can also read our full lip blush aftercare guide any time.

What to expect · honestly

The lip blush healing journey

Lip blush has a 4–6 week healing process and some of the stages look alarming if you're not prepared. We tell every client exactly what to expect. The more you know, the less you'll worry. And the result at the end is absolutely worth it.

1
Day 1–2

Lips appear significantly darker and more intense than your chosen colour. often a deeper, richer shade than anything you'd wear as lipstick. Some swelling and tenderness is normal. This is not your final result.

2
Days 3–7

The stage that surprises most clients: lips begin to peel and may look patchy, uneven or blotchy. Some areas look darker, others almost bare. sometimes within the same lip. This can feel alarming but it is completely normal and expected. Do not pick or peel the flaking skin. The pigment is settling into the deeper layers beneath the surface.

3
Week 2

Once the peeling finishes, most clients enter the "ghosting phase". The colour looks very light or almost invisible, as if the treatment barely worked. New skin has formed over the healing pigment, temporarily masking it. This is not the final result. Give it time.

4
Weeks 3–4

The true healed colour starts to surface. It's noticeably softer and more natural than the initial application, a gentle flush of colour rather than the bold pigment you saw on day one. This is the version of your lip blush you'll have for the next year or two.

5
Week 6–8

Your colour boost appointment. Any areas that healed unevenly or need additional pigment are touched up, and the final result is completed and perfected. Most clients leave this appointment feeling the whole process was completely worth it.

Common questions

Lip blush FAQs

Everything you need to know before booking your lip blush appointment at Lash It Up.

Numbing cream is applied to your lips before the treatment begins and topped up throughout the session . Most clients describe the sensation as mild, a light scratching or vibrating feeling. Your lips are naturally sensitive, but the numbing keeps it very manageable. The initial session takes around 2–3 hours and you will be comfortable throughout.
Healing takes 4–6 weeks in stages. Days 1–2: lips look darker and more intense than the final colour. This is completely normal. Days 3–7 are the stage to prepare for: lips start to peel and may look patchy, blotchy or uneven. Some areas appear darker, others almost bare. Do not pick, peel or rub. This is the pigment settling into the deeper layers of your skin. Week 2: the "ghosting phase". Colour looks very light or nearly invisible as new skin forms over the healing pigment. Weeks 3–4: the true, softer healed colour begins to appear. Week 6–8: your colour boost appointment perfects the result. The healed outcome is always more natural and flattering than what you see immediately after the treatment.
Lip blush typically lasts 1–2 years. Longevity depends on skin type, lifestyle and sun exposure. oilier skin and frequent sun exposure fade the pigment faster. A colour boost at 6–8 weeks after the initial session is an important step in locking in the result. Annual top-ups every 12–18 months maintain the colour and definition long-term.
Absolutely. Colour selection is one of the most enjoyable parts of the consultation. We look at your natural lip tone, skin undertone and the finish you're after, and find a shade together that enhances rather than overpowers. Most clients opt for something close to their natural lip colour, just more refined and consistent. You can go warmer, cooler, more neutral or a little bolder. The choice is entirely yours. Nothing is applied until you're fully happy with the colour.
For clients who spend time on their lip routine daily. yes, overwhelmingly. Lip blush eliminates the need for daily lip liner, lipstick and constant reapplying throughout the day. It adds definition that makes lips look fuller and more symmetrical, and the colour stays through meals, exercise and sleep. At £180 for a session that lasts 1–2 years, most clients find it one of the most cost-effective beauty investments they make. Once they've healed through the process and seen the final result, almost every client books again.
Most adults in good health are suitable. Lip blush is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for clients on blood thinners, or for anyone with active cold sores or certain skin conditions. If you've had lip fillers, we recommend waiting at least 4 weeks before your appointment. A full consultation is carried out before every treatment to confirm suitability. If you have any medical concerns, please contact us before booking.
