Lash It Up Beauty Salon Enfield aftercare advice
Lash extensions aftercare

Lash extensions

The first 48 hours decide how long your set will last. After that, gentle daily care keeps your lashes looking full all the way to your infill.

First 24–48 hours

  • Keep your lashes completely dry. No water, steam, sweat or hot showers.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms and intense exercise.
  • Skip eye makeup of any kind, including mascara and eyeliner.
  • Sleep on your back where you can to protect the bond.

Ongoing care

  • Brush your lashes daily with a clean spoolie, starting from the middle of the lash.
  • Cleanse the lash line with a lash-safe, oil-free foam every couple of days.
  • Pat dry with a soft towel. Never rub.
  • Book infills every 2 to 3 weeks to keep the set looking full.

What to avoid

  • Oil-based cleansers, makeup removers and moisturisers near the eye area.
  • Mascara, especially waterproof formulas.
  • Mechanical lash curlers. They snap extensions in half.
  • Rubbing, picking or pulling at lashes. Premature shedding will follow.

When to call us

If you have redness, swelling, itching or any unusual reaction in the 24 hours after your appointment, get in touch right away. Call 020 8127 7320 or message us on our contact page. Don't try to remove the lashes yourself.

Lash lift & tint aftercare

Lash lift & tint

The lifting solution needs 24 hours to fully set the new shape into your lashes. Get through the first day carefully and your lift will stay beautiful for 6 to 8 weeks.

First 24 hours

  • Keep your lashes completely dry. No water, steam, sweat or tears on the lashes.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot showers and the gym.
  • No eye makeup. No mascara, eyeliner or eyeshadow.
  • Skip skincare on the eye area. No cleansers, moisturisers or serums.

Ongoing care

  • From day 2, you can return to your normal routine and wear makeup.
  • Use a clean spoolie to comb your lashes upwards each morning.
  • Apply a lash growth serum at the lash line to nourish your lashes.
  • Book your next lash lift at around 6 to 8 weeks.

What to avoid

  • Oil-based cleansers and makeup removers. They relax the curl prematurely.
  • Waterproof mascara. It needs harsh removal that damages the lift.
  • Mechanical lash curlers. The lift has already curled your lashes for you.
  • Sleeping face-down on the first night.

When to call us

If you experience stinging, redness or swelling after your appointment, contact us straight away on 020 8127 7320. A free patch test 24 to 48 hours before treatment helps us avoid this for all new clients.

Powder brows aftercare

Powder brows

Powder brows heal over roughly 14 days. The first week is the most important. Treat your brows as healing skin and you'll see clean, even colour settle into the final result.

Days 1 to 2

  • Gently blot your brows with a clean tissue to remove any lymph fluid.
  • From the evening of day 1, clean the area morning and night with cooled boiled water and a cotton pad. Pat dry.
  • Apply a thin layer of the healing balm we provide. A little goes a long way.
  • Sleep on your back where possible.

Days 3 to 14

  • Expect flaking and a darkening of the colour around day 3 to 5. This is normal.
  • Never pick or scratch the flakes. Let them fall away naturally.
  • The brows will look very light around day 7 to 10. The colour returns as the skin heals.
  • Continue with the healing balm twice a day until fully healed.

What to avoid (first 10 days)

  • Getting the brows wet in the shower. Wash your face below the brow line.
  • Makeup on or around the brow area.
  • Sweating, exercise, swimming, saunas and steam rooms.
  • Direct sunlight, sunbeds and fake tan on the area.
  • Active skincare like retinol, AHAs and acids near the brows.

Touch-up & longer term

Your top-up appointment is booked for 6 to 8 weeks after your initial treatment. This perfects the shape and depth of colour once your skin has fully healed.

Long term, wear SPF 30 or higher on your brows daily. UV is the number-one cause of premature fading. Any concerns? Call us on 020 8127 7320.

Lip blush aftercare

Lip blush

Lip blush heals faster than the brows but the first 7 days need real care. Your lips will go through colour changes that look dramatic. Trust the process. The final result settles at around 6 weeks.

Days 1 to 3

  • Blot your lips every hour on day 1 to keep them clean and dry.
  • Apply the healing balm we provide as soon as your lips feel tight. Reapply often.
  • Drink water through a straw and eat soft, mild food.
  • Brush your teeth carefully with the brush away from your lips.

Days 4 to 10

  • Expect peeling and flaking. The colour will look patchy. This is normal.
  • Do not pick or peel the flakes. You'll pull pigment out with them.
  • Keep applying healing balm to stop the lips drying out.
  • Around day 7 to 10 the colour will appear to disappear. It returns as the skin heals.

What to avoid (first 10 days)

  • Spicy, acidic, salty or very hot food and drink.
  • Kissing, oral contact and biting your lips.
  • Lipstick, lip gloss and lip liner.
  • Swimming, saunas, steam rooms and heavy exercise.
  • Direct sun on the lips.

Touch-up & cold sores

Your top-up is at 6 to 8 weeks. If you've ever had a cold sore, ask your GP for an antiviral course to take before your appointment. Lip tattooing can trigger an outbreak in anyone with the virus.

Laser hair removal aftercare

Laser hair removal

Laser treats the hair follicle directly. Your skin will feel a little like mild sunburn afterwards and the hair will shed naturally over the next few weeks. Look after the area carefully between sessions to get the best results.

First 24–48 hours

  • Keep the area cool. A cool compress or aloe vera gel will soothe any tenderness.
  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and the gym.
  • No perfumes, deodorants or scented products on the treated skin.
  • Wear loose clothing over the area to reduce friction.

Between sessions

  • Hair will shed naturally 1 to 3 weeks after each session. Don't be tempted to pluck it.
  • You can shave between sessions, but do not wax, thread, pluck or epilate.
  • Exfoliate gently from day 5 to help shedding hairs lift away.
  • Book sessions every 4 to 6 weeks at the right interval for your treatment area.

Sun protection is essential

  • Avoid sun exposure on the treated area for at least 2 weeks before and after each session.
  • Apply SPF 50 daily to any exposed treated skin throughout your course.
  • No sunbeds, fake tan or self-tanner on the area during your course.
  • If you've been on holiday, let your skin recover for 2 weeks before booking your next session.

When to call us

Mild redness and warmth is normal for a few hours. Get in touch on 020 8127 7320 if you notice blistering, broken skin, prolonged swelling or any change in pigmentation. These are uncommon but we'd rather hear from you and check.

BioRepeel aftercare

BioRepeel

BioRepeel is a biostimulating peel. It works in the deeper layers of your skin while looking gentle on the surface. The 24 hours after treatment are critical to let the active ingredients do their job.

First 24 hours

  • Do not wash your face or get the skin wet. The peel keeps working on your skin overnight.
  • No makeup, no skincare, no serums. Leave the skin completely alone.
  • Avoid heat. No hot showers, exercise, saunas or steam rooms.
  • Sleep on a fresh pillowcase to keep the skin clean.

Days 2 to 7

  • Cleanse gently morning and night with a mild, non-active cleanser.
  • Use a fragrance-free moisturiser to keep the skin hydrated.
  • Light flaking is normal between day 3 and day 5. Don't peel it off.
  • You may apply makeup from day 2 if you wish.

What to avoid (first 7 days)

  • Active skincare. No retinol, AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C or exfoliating acids.
  • Physical exfoliants and scrubs.
  • Sunbeds, fake tan and direct sun exposure.
  • Other facial treatments, waxing or threading on the area.

SPF every day

Apply SPF 50 every single morning, including in winter and on cloudy days. Your skin is in a more responsive state for the next two weeks and unprotected sun can cause pigmentation.

For best results, book BioRepeel as a course of 4 to 6 sessions spaced 7 to 14 days apart. Questions during healing? Call 020 8127 7320.
